The third studio album of Citizens & Saints, titled "A Mirror Dimly," will be released under Gospel Song Records on Sept. 16.

Zach Bolen, the group's frontman, explained that the new album was borne out of their search for clarity. The other member of the alternative rock band are Adam Skatula and Nathan Furtado.

"Faith and doubt aren't exclusive to Christian belief, but relative to the nature of the human heart," he said. "To doubt God is evidence of that nature, and doubt in one thing often prompts the belief in another."

That means, people still have to doubt their capacity to save their own selves before acknowledging that there's a higher power that can do that for them. "To believe in God is evidence of a power at work that goes beyond the bounds of human nature," he added.

He also acknowledged the support of Mars Hill Church in the release of "A Mirror Dimly." Citizens & Saints still lead the worship at one of the church's campuses despite having two studio albums under its belt. That shows the humility and dedication of the group.

"'A Mirror Dimly' is the result of both personal struggles, and conversations with those swimming in doubt post Mars Hill, yet inclusive enough to be a cathartic journey of listening and contemplation for any and all," he explained

Before "A Mirror Dimly," Citizens & Saints released its debut album in 20013 which peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart. They released their second album, "Join the Triumph" in 2014.
