21-year-old Dutch singer-songwriter Leon Lieffijn on Thursday released his latest single, "To Be Near You." Lieffijn says he wrote the new song together with Chrissy Sanderson, and explains that it carries with it the important message that God is greater than any of our problems.
Adding to what Lieffijn said, Sanderson recalls how the song came to be, "This song came about after listening to some Christian teaching about going to the Lord in prayer and handing over everything that was troubling me. One thing that I have been so confident about is knowing that God is bigger than any of my problems."
The latest single is not the first time Lieffijn has sat down with Sanderson to write. The songwriting duo is also behind the song "Never Alone (feat. Richelle Smit)" which garnered the young artist the honor of Talent of the Month in November in 2016, by the largest Christian radio station in the Netherlands, Groot Nieuws Radio [Great News Radio].
Lieffijn also managed to reach the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest (UKSC) in 2015 with his song, "Freedom," in front of judges such as Grammy Award-nominated Shelly Peiken. The following year his song "Choices" was selected as one of the best "Epic Music" songs of 2015 and was featured in YouTuber Epic Music VN's video, "Best of Epic Music 2015," which currently has been viewed over 1.4 million times.
