For the June 28 episode, "Jesus Cares About Your Pain," the Jesus Calling podcast invited recording artist Jason Crabb, along with Saddleback Church pastor Johnny Baker, where Crabb shares stories from his life, about how his grandmother helped to shape his faith, the trials he and his wife have faced, as well as details about his latest project, Unexpected. Crabb is a Grammy Award-winning, 21-time GMA Dove Award-winning vocalist, musician, songwriter, author, and more.

Released in April and featuring guest vocals by singers Gary LeVox and Kaya Jones, Crabb's latest album was all about the Unexpected. In an interview with Fox News, he spoke about the release, saying, "We all have the unexpected - unexpected joy, unexpected pain, unexpected blessing - but the best thing about that is that we can always expect and know that God is right there with us through it all. He's the God of unexpected and expected."

Among the many unexpected things happening to Crabb this year, he was recently inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, honoring his impressive accomplishments so far in his career.

The Jesus Calling podcast was born out of the homonymous devotional that has sold more than 23 million copies worldwide, and the recent episode is available for download now on iTunes, SoundCloud, Spotify, Stitcher, and many other platforms. Its former guests include greats such as Reba McEntire, Charlie Daniels, Dolly Parton, Kathie Lee Gifford, Josh Turner, and Amy Grant, among others.
