Acclaimed singer-songwriter Matthew West on Friday released his latest single and lyric video "The Beautiful Things We Miss." The song, which is a cut from his latest album All In, is written as a reflection of the symmetry of West's own life and career, and the lyric video "presses pause" on the most precious moments in life for West, reminding him of his role as husband and dad and the important moments which can easily pass one by.

"The idea for this song came while I was on a hike in the Colorado mountains," West says. "At one point I stopped for a break, looked up and realized I had missed some of the most breathtaking scenery around me. I pulled out my phone and typed the words 'The Beautiful Things We Miss.' That's what led me to write this song that cuts straight to the core of my biggest struggle in life - being a dad who stays connected and invested in the lives of my daughters, and being the kind of husband that my wife needs me to be."

He ponders, "Do I care more about my career than my family? What would they say about me if I asked them that question? I hope this song can remind us all what really matters before it passes us by."

In a post on social media, West adds, "For me, #TheBeautifulThingsWeMiss is about going 'all in' with the world around us-specifically the world inside our own homes. With Father's Day right around the corner, it's the perfect time to remind ourselves to step back and enjoy the little things. We'll never have the option to rewind time, and there's no such thing as 'next time.'"

West is touring throughout the summer with events lined up through August and into September, with full dates available on his official website.
