Grammy-nominated South Carolina rock band NEEDTOBREATHE has released their latest single "Bullets," capturing a gritty, throwback sound. The song is the third track from the band's upcoming collection of songs Forever On Your Side (Niles City Sound Sessions) which releases on July 13.
"Bullets" has a bluesy, soulful flavor built around a funk-laden guitar riff, but the message of regret feels dark and imploring.
"This is the kind of sound and song we have always wanted to do," the band's frontman Bear Rineheart explains. "I think this is the band playing at our highest level. It sounds very tough because the chorus is about bullets, but it's really about the idea that the things you say and do sometimes can't be taken back."
In postings on social media, the band also writes, "'Bullets' was one of the first songs we recorded at Niles City Sound and it really helped set the vibe for the rest of the songs. 'Bullets' is all about how some of the things you choose to say or do sometimes can't be taken back, which is a tough lesson we learn over and over."
This fall, NEEDTOBREATHE is heading out on their latest headlining "Forever On Your Side Tour," which will take the band coast to coast. The tour kicks off Aug. 10 in New Braunfels, Texas, with stops at the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville, the Greek in Los Angeles, and likely a fourth career sell-out at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo.
