Singer-songwriter Michael Edmonds on Monday announced his first single on INOV8 Music, "Worship In Me," scheduled for release on Sept. 28. The new song is already going for adds to Christian INSPO/Soft AC and Christian AC formatted radio outlets and is now available for pre-order on iTunes.

While recently signed with INOV8 Music, Edmonds has been in music ministry for more than 20 years with a focused vision for his calling, which he says is to draw the lost to a forgiving God, by exalting the name of Jesus, and to be a reflection of His love and compassion. He credits his aunt with encouraging his musical pursuit.

"My Aunt Wanda pushed me since I was a young child," Edmonds says. "She bought me my first karaoke machine to practice on. She also bought me my first keyboard. I remember when I was 13, I told her I was going to quit. She said, 'No, you are not' and took me to record my first demo in a real recording studio the next day."

Edmonds overcame a challenging childhood in Queens, N.Y., where he was raised by parents addicted to drugs, and with his mother dying of AIDS when she was only 28. When he was 16, Edmonds signed his first record deal with a label in New York City, but soon felt God pulling at his heart, telling him, "I didn't call you to do this."

Following the calling to sing for the Lord, Edmonds has since taken the stage at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York City, and appeared on numerous local and national TV and radio shows. Most recently, he has made appearances on Cornerstone TV Network's "Real Life 360" and on Atlanta Live Studios' "Friends & Neighbors."
