Tamela Mann Presented With Gospel Music Lifetime Achievement Award At 2018 Stellar Awards

Grammy Award-winning and platinum-selling Gospel artist Tamela Mann was honored with the very special James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award at the 33rd Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards held in Las Vegas last weekend. She accepted the award in front of a sold-out arena on Saturday in recognition of her career and contribution to Gospel music.

Upon receiving the award, Mann said, "What a blessing to be recognized by the Stellar Gospel Music Awards for serving God and walking in my purpose. My music is more than a career to me, it's an opportunity to encourage and bring healing to people."

Stellar Gospel Music Awards Founder & Executive Producer Don Jackson, said, "I am amazed at how humble Tamela continues to be and her support of all of the different genres of Gospel music. Her success is a testament to the beauty of her spirit and how it is projected outwardly in her music."

"Tamela is most deserving of the James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award because of the multiple areas of her career from the stage and screen to her success in Gospel music," Jackson explained. "I will always cherish Tamela's kind and precious wishes for my late wife Dr. Rose R. Jackson."

Over the course of her career, Mann has become known as one of the top performers and recording artists in Gospel music. Apart from her Grammy Award, Mann is also an NAACP Image Award-winner, BET Award-winner, Billboard Music Award-winner, and a multi-Stellar Award and GMA Dove Award-winner.

Her 2012 album Best Days debuted at No. 1 on multiple music sales charts and includes the No. 1 RIAA-Platinum certified single "Take Me To The King." The album garnered seven Stellar Awards and two Dove Awards, Mann set a historical record as the first Gospel lead artist in Billboard Gospel Radio chart history to release three consecutive No. 1 songs from an album.
