'The Shack' Movie Trailer: First Look At Faith-Centric Film Featuring Sam Worthington, Tim McGraw [WATCH]

Summit Entertainment has released the trailer for the upcoming faith-centric mainstream movie, "The Shack."

Based on a New York Times bestselling novel written by William P. Young, "The Shack" tells the story of a man named Mack Phillips, a grieving father who spirals into depression and discovers life-changing truths when he encounters the Holy Trinity.

Sam Worthington plays Mack Phillips, while Octavia Spencer plays Papa. The film also stars Tim McGraw, Sumire Matsubara, Radha Mitchell and Graham Greene.

"The Shack" is the second feature film by Stuart Hazeldine, who is previously better known as a screenwriter than a director. His directorial debut was in 2009, when he directed the British psychological thriller "Exam."

The trailer for the upcoming film also features an original song from married couple McGraw and Faith Hill, as well as magnificent shots of winter, summer, a garden resembling the Garden of Eden, and a classic shack.

Adapted for the screen by John Fusco, "The Shack" is set to hit theaters on March 3, 2017.

Here is the official synopsis for the film:
