Star Wars Episode 7 Cast: Kaley Cuoco Auditions for Role as Big Bang Theory's Penny

The Big Bang Theory's star Kaley Cuoco tested for a sought-after role in Star Wars Episode VII film, but as her sitcom character Penny.

In an episode of The Big Bang Theory, the aspiring actress Penny was completely devastated after discovering her role was removed from an episode of NCIS. Nevertheless, Leonard (Johnny Galecki), attempted to offer his love interest some hope when he told Penny about a Star Wars Episode VII audition, according to a Yahoo report.

"There's this thing online," said The Big Bang Theory character Leonard to Penny in the episode. "You put yourself on tape and just send it in. Anyone can do it."

According to the Latin Post, Penny revealed that she believes it is a PR exploit regarding the open audition call.

"Even if it is," said Leonard to Penny, "you have a huge advantage because you're an actual actress. Most of the people doing this are just weirdos and nerds. Wolowitz sent his in two days ago."

Leonard further inspired Penny with a heartfelt speech in the episode.

"Maybe it is a long-shot, but sometimes long-shots happen. Luke Skywalker was only given one chance to destroy the Death Star. He had to get a torpedo in an exhaust port that was only two meters wide, but with the help of The Force...wow, I can feel you hating me right now," concluded Leonard when he realized he was rambling to Penny.

Star Wars Episode VII will make its long-awaited return to the big screen on December 18, 2015.
