2016 Macbook Pro Sales Latest News & Update: Is Current Success Going To Be Sustainable?
The 2016 MacBook Pro sales success has been surprising considering the way Apple has been destroying the competition since the launch of the device.
According to Slice Intelligence, the new device sold four times as many units as the Microsoft Surface Book, and ten times as many Lenovo Yoga 900. The report was based on a survey of 4.4 million buyers.
Even when benchmarked against its own products, Apple's 2016 MacBook Pro sales is still considered a success. For instance, in the first five days since it was sold online, it already outsold the 12-inch MacBook, which was launched in April 2017 by as much as seven times.
Overall, in the five days alone, the total sales of the new model already represent more than 80% of the total units sold of the 12-inch MacBook.
Apple owes its 2016 MacBook Pro sales success to the male population, since more than 8 in 10 consumers who bought the device have been men.
But Digital Trends noted that it's too early to celebrate the 2016 MacBook Pro sales success, considering that the survey results were limited to five days. If the profit stream continues in the next six months, then Apple really has something special on its hands.
Nevertheless, it's hard to believe that Apple will be able to sustain this kind of sales success considering the 2016 MacBook Pro's perceived controversial innovations. It's more likely that those who buy the new laptop will end up switching to another brand for their next laptop, as Slice Intelligence noted was happening in 2014.
