2017 Dove Awards: Motown Gospel's Tasha Cobbs Leonard, VaShawn Mitchell, Tye Tribbett & Tim Bowman Recognized

The 48th Annual GMA Dove Awards nominations were announced today with premiere record label Motown Gospel receiving four nominations. This year's nominations reflect the growing diversity on the label's roster.

Among the top nominees include VaShawn Mitchell who earned two nods for his popular 2016 album Secret Place: Live In South Africa. He was recognized for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Worship Album of the Year and Urban Worship Recorded Song of the Year for his number one song "Joy."  

Multiple Dove Award winner, Tasha Cobbs Leonard who has garnered nearly a dozen GMA Dove nominations, received a nod for Gospel Artist of the Year. Meanwhile, fan favorite Tye Tribbett received a nomination for Contemporary Gospel/ Urban Worship Recorded Song of the Year for his current crossover smash "Work It Out," and Tim Bowman earned a second Dove Award nomination for "Fix Me," in the Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year category.

The GMA Dove Awards celebrate the contributions of artists from every style of Christian/Gospel music. Nominees are determined by over 1,600 professional members, and winners will be voted on by the entire GMA membership of nearly 2,500. The GMA Dove Awards will take place on Oct. 17, 2017 live from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn..
