2017 Honda CR-V Features, Release Date, Specs & Price News: Beauty And Bang For Your Buck

The 2017 Honda CR-V was unveiled during the Detroit car show and by all indications, the interior and exterior impressed some spectators.

More than the crossover, the platform for the 2017 Honda CR-V is actually based on the 2016 Honda Civic. But there's minimal design change on this model over the previous one. In fact, it's hard to differentiate the two. There's a change in the front grille, however, whereas the old model looks like the SUV is smiling, the new model seems like it's jutting out its jaw, giving it that more aggressive look.

2017 Honda CR-V Features and Specs: Interior

In the interior, the 2017 Honda CR-V features and specs include a 7-inch digital infotainment display. Those who own the Civic will also be familiar with the dashboard and digital display. Its shifter is also mounted on top. The rear legroom is about two inches more than the old model and five passengers are very comfortable inside.

Will the 2017 Honda CR-V features and specs be enough to trump the Toyota Rav-4 and Ford Escape? That remains to be seen.

2017 Honda CR-V Features and Specs: Engine

Under the hood, the 2017 Honda CR-V sports a 2.4-liter non-turbo engine that can hit 185 hp. The outgoing model, meanwhile, has a 1.6-liter diesel capable of chucking out 160 horsepower. As options you can choose all-wheel drive and select between manual or automatic.

There's also reports of the CR-V getting the 1.5-liter turbo engine from the latest Civic. This is good for 174 hp, although the engine's torque might be modified to handle the heavier body of the crossover.

2017 Honda CR-V Features and Specs: Price

The price of the 2017 Honda CR-V will reportedly be between $25,000 and $35,000 for the AWD Touring. The release date would be sometime next year.
