47 Ronin Release Date Christmas 2013 Starring Keanu Reeves Watch Official Trailer Here (VIDEO)

47 Ronin is a fantasy action film that is due out on Christmas Day 2013. The movie is fictional but based off of a real-life samurai group in 18-century Japan who avenge the murder of their master. 

Official storyline: 

The outcast Kai (Reeves) joins a group of Ronin, led by Kuranosuke Oishi (Sanada), who seeks vengeance on Lord Kira (Asano) for killing their master and banishing the group. The Ronin embark on a journey whose challenges would defeat most warriors.

The movie stars Keanu Reeves as Kai, who's character was created for the flim.  Kai is half-Japanese and half-Britsh. Tadanobu Asano plays Lord Kira who is the Shogun's master of ceremonies and responsible for killing the Ronin master whom they are avenging. Hiroyuki Sanada is Kuranosuke Oishi who is the leader of the Ronin. Kou Shibassaki plays Mika, who is the slain master's daughter and love interest of Kai (Reeves). 

47 Ronin is directed by Carl Erik Rinsch and executive produced by Scott Stuber. It will be released by Universal Pictures.
