'50 Shades of Grey' Movie News: Roc Nation Singer Rita Ora Joins Cast as Christian's Adopted Sister Mia
Another day, another 50 Shades of Grey cast announcement.
Singer Rita Ora will be taking on the role of Christian Grey's adopted sister Mia, in the upcoming film adaptation. She confirmed the news via Twitter Monday.
"It's official! I've been cast in @FiftyShades of Grey as Christian's sister Mia. #FiftyShades," she tweeted on Monday.
This won't be Ora's first time in front of the camera. Making a cameo on the most recent Fast and Furious flick, Ora has also appeared on some British television. Signed to Jay-Z's record label, Roc Nation, Ora is best known for her pop hits "R.I.P." and "How We Do (Party). The singer also made headlines briefly dating reality star Rob Kardashian.
Though the KUWTK kid brother was devastated by the breakup, Ora never even considered them a couple.
"I never actually thought it was a relationship, in all honesty. I never mentally defined it as boyfriend/girlfriend. When I split up with him I said 'it's because I'm never there, I don't know how to do it.' That's all I said ... then the rest happened," Ora told Us Weekly.
Filming for 50 Shades began in Canada on Monday and scheduled for a February 13, 2015 premiere.
Joining Ora will be Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as the Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, respectively. The movie adaptation also stars Eloise Mumford as Ana's roommate Kate and Max Martini as Jason Taylor, Grey's bodyguard.
