BREATHEcast was on the gold carpet premiere of 'A.D. The Bible Continues' this week to conduct interviews and we had the chance to catch up with Simon Peter himself, Adam Levy.

Right off the bat in the series starts with Jesus' crucifixion, and shows the apostle Peter at one of his darkest moments, denying Christ three times.

This is something that Levy explains must have been so hard as Jesus was Peter's best friend. However, he realizes that Peter went on to do so much more in his life and was a crucial part to the spreading of the gospel to all the world.

"I end up having to deny Him in the beginning, but that is the beginning of our journey," Levy said.

Levy said Peter is a "normal, everyday guy" who becomes used by God. It is this sense of normalcy that makes him the powerful person he is. Peter has real emotions and pitfalls, which makes him relatable. This was also something that Levy said made it easier for him to play as he did not try to act like someone of such huge standing.

"Someone once said, 'if you are a scholar and speak scholarly to people then only scholars will listen to you. Whereas if you are a working person who speaks to the people, then hopefully everyone will listen," he explained of Peter's approach in evangelism.
