AirPods Release Date Rumors, News Update: Barclay's Research Says 2016 Launch Highly Unlikely
Those waiting on any news for the AirPods launch will walk away disappointed as the previous report about a 2016 release date turns out to be very premature.
According to a recent news report from Phone Arena, analysts from Barclay's Research think that Apple will not be announcing the AirPods' launch anytime soon. They claimed that the new product won't be rolling out to the assembly lines "for another three or four weeks."
Back in October, Apple released a statement which confirmed the AirPods launch delay.
"We don't believe in shipping a product before it's ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers," the alleged spokesperson at Apple said.
While Apple might not catch up with the frenzy of the holiday season for its $159 product, it wouldn't matter with the sales, however. If the lack of aesthetic doesn't faze people, then buying beyond the Christmas holidays certainly would not make any difference.
The analysts at Barclays also believed that in preparation for the initial AirPods launch, Apple is keeping the production at a minimum probably to gauge public reaction.
Blayne Curtis, researcher for Barclays, said, "We did hear that the AirPods should finally start production in December but units are fairly small at 10-15M to start."
To be fair, this is just a forecast and without any confirmation from Apple, nobody can really know for sure which one is the truth.
We will report more news on the AirPods launch as soon as we can get our hands on any new info so watch out.
