Duck Dynasty's Alan Robertson Releases "The Duck Dynasty Commander Devotional" Book Includes 365 Days of Scriptures 

Alan Robertson from the "Duck Dynasty" clan has released a new book, The Duck Dynasty Commander Devotional. The book acknowledges the Christian faith of the family and includes background information on each personality on the show. Along with the backstory the book also features 365-days of scriptures, short stories, and personal prayers from the entire family.

Alan speaks about his life growing up poor with a father who lost his faith in the Lord and kicked his wife and sons out of their house leaving Alan to fend for his family and raise his younger siblings. After Alan's father regained his relationship with Christ and reunited with his family, Alan started to rebel and went down a path of darkness, steering away from God.

Alan became so bad that he was kicked out of the house again, this time by his mother and father. Alan went on to move to New Orleans where he said he lived like the prodigal son in Luke 15 and "took off to the wild country and didn't have any wealth, but certainly squandered."

Alan decided to turn his life around and began preaching at White Ferry Road Church for 22 years, but was faced with the decision to step down as pastor and work behind the scenes for the family's business and reality show "Duck Dynasty".

"It wasn't an easy decision. It took about a year in prayer to make that move. We saw it as an opportunity for a national ministry, really an international ministry. Many fans really don't understand Christianity and the spiritual part of who we are. So, who better to do that than the guy who's been a pastor all these years. It's a perfect platform to get the Gospel out," Alan said during an interview.
