'Alone Yet Not Alone' Christian Movie Filmmakers Now Accepting Students for Training (DETAILS)

The producers of the Academy Award nominated Christian movie "Alone Yet Not Alone" are now accepting registration to their yearly Advent Film Workshop. The seminar will take place for two days on June 20 and 21 in the Washington, DC area for a select group of 30 students.

Alone Yet Not Alone filmmakers George Escobar and Michael Snyder are nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song, which was sung by quadriplegic speaker and author, Joni Eareckson Tada. Escobar is also the film's co-director and co-writer.

This is Escobar and Snyder's first Academy Award nominated movie for their Advent Film Group production company. They produced the movie for Enthuse Entertainment. Alone Yet Not Alone was composed by Bruce Broughton, who previously was an Oscar nominee for SILVERADO and 10-time Emmy recipient, with lyrics by Dennis Spiegel.

Advent's first movie was titled "Come What May." The film was released by Provident Films in 2009, a unit of Sony. It sold more than 75,000 DVDs in its original release and was viewed by over 3.5 million watchers at the screenings through the American Family Association, GodTube, TBN, and UPTV.

The Oscar nomination has stirred major media attention since the Christian movie is battling against Hollywood's largest productions.

"Ken Wales (executive producer of 'Amazing Grace' and 'Christy') called me late one night from Los Angeles, wanting me to conference call with him and Broughton, the composer. I almost fell off my chair. Bruce is one of my favorite composers. Now he wants to talk to me about writing the song for Alone Yet Not Alone?...,"  said Escobar in a press release.

Escobar described how he felt about making the film.

"I was thrilled and honored. Since the movie takes place in the mid-1700's during the French and Indian war, we deciding to use the classic hymn, AMAZING GRACE as our model. We were aiming for something melodic, timeless, and prayerful," he said in the press release.

Snyder and Escobar are also going to release two other films this year. One of the films is titled "Hero," a movie about a father and his son and their love for baseball. The other film produced by the filmmakers is called The Screenwriters, about two 1940's Hollywood studio scribes. Advent is raising sponsor funding for three upcoming films and setting up supply output deals.
