Amazon Alexa Blue Link News & Update: You Can Start Your Engine From Your Couch

Hyundai is the first carmaker to adopt the Amazon Alexa Blue Link, which would give owners the ability to start their engine from their couch or bed, according to the latest news.

Barry Ratzlaff, executive director of Digital Business Planning of Hyundai Motors America, said in a press release, said this is another step toward enhancing customer experience.

"Linking smart devices like the Amazon Echo and Apple Watch to vehicles via Blue Link continues to fill that desire," he said. "Allowing consumers to send commands to their car is just the beginning."

With the Amazon Alexa Blue Link, Hyundai owners can now remote start their vehicles, or stop charging the IONIQ Electric, IONIQ Plug-in and Sonata Plug-in. They can also remote engine start and turn on the aircon of all supported Hyundai models. Lock or unlock the doors, or turn on the horns and lights.
