'American Horror Story' Season 3 "Coven" / First Teaser Trailer Released / FX Series Set to Premiere October 2013 [VIDEO]

The makers of American Horror Story Coven just released the first teaser trailer of the horror series' third season. Mix in a little "House of the Rising Sun" and a creepy white room, and you have yourself the perfect preview of the upcoming batch of episodes from FX.

Season 1 scared viewers with a haunted house in L.A.

Season 2 freaked us out in an asylum.

American Horror Story Season 3 takes us to New Orleans, where real and fake historical figures will come to terms with the supernatural.

Kathy Bates joins the Season 3 cast, playing Marie Delphine LaLaurie, a famous serial killer. Also new to the Season 3 cast are Emma Roberts and Gabourey Sidibe.

Though most of the Season 3 storylines are kept under wraps, Tim Minear was kind enough to dish a few spoilers at the TCAs.

"I think some of the bigger themes this year is oppression of minorities of all kinds and within that idea, the idea of minority groups going after each other and doing the work for the larger culture. There's a very strong feminist theme there, there's also themes of race and themes of oppression and a very strong theme of family, specifically mothers and daughters."

American Horror Story Coven is set to premeiere in October on FX.
