"American Psycho" TV Sequal is in the Works Between FX and Lionsgate / "American Psycho" Musical in London
A sequel television series to classic film "American Psycho" is in the works by the people from FX and Lionsgate TV. "American Psycho" was released in theaters back in 2000 starring Christian Bale. The film did numbers by raking in over $34 million in box office sales.
The TV series will be set in present time after the late 1980s events that occurred in the original film. It will still center on serial killer Patrick Bateman who will be in his mid-fifties, but still hasn't lost his urge to kill. Bateman will meet and take a potential protégé under his wing and mold him into "a next generation American Psycho".
The series will be written by Stefan Jaworski and co-produced by both Lionsgate and FX. Allison Searmu, Jaworski, and Ed Pressman will work as the films executive producers. Oddly enough a musical based on the "American Psycho" novel by Bret Ellis is set to debut in London at the Almeida Theatre on December 13, 2013 and will run until January 25, 2014.
