Amy Poehler New Book ‘Yes Please’ Lands On Best-Selling List At No. 5

Amy Poehler joins the ranks of other comediennes as her 'Yes Please' book lands a number five spot on USA Today's best-selling list.

On that note, 'Girls' actress Lena Dunham was also ranked at number five with her book 'Not That Kind of Girl', which was released last month. Tina Fey was another comedienne who landed on the fifth spot with her 2011 book 'Bossypants', before it subsequently peaked at rank number four after a few weeks.

Before them was Chelsea Handler, whose book 'Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang' ranked high at number two back in 2010.

'Yes Please' considers topics such as her childhood insecurities, her recent divorce from Will Arnett, and her experience on the set of 'Saturday Night Live', Poehler said during an interview with The Toronto Star.

Poehler talked about her first year on 'Saturday Night Live', which she credited as being the show to help her rise to fame.

"I dropped into the show at a very, very supportive and exuberant time for women. I didn't run into any of the 'old boys' network' kind of thing," she said. She also stated that show creator and producer Lorne Michaels "has done more for women in comedy than anyone I know."

Poehler also explained the title of her book, saying "Yes is the first thing you learn to say to be a good improviser and the reason I have everything I do in my life is by saying yes to things instead of no. and the please is because, as I get older, I realize I don't do it alone. It also makes it a nice title for my kids to say."

Poehler also explained that she wants to keep performing and making people happy, and that she was happy now and wants to keep trying to be.

"You reach the top of a mountain and you say, 'Aha, so this is where I've always wanted to be and I am happy'. And that lasts about, oh, two weeks."
