Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Latest News: Moto X, Moto G Confirmed By Motorola
Google has finally confirmed the Android L update as Android 5.0 Lollipop and many smartphone manufacturers including Motorola are waiting for the release date details so they could release their own plans for the new operating system.
Motorola's Support Page says that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is in progress and once it is officially released, the company will be working with their technology and carrier partners to bring it to customers.
The company further stated on their page, "Once Android 5.0 is officially released, we intend to bring this latest upgrade to many of our other Motorola devices as well. This will include Moto X (1st gen.), Moto X (2nd gen.),Moto G (1st gen.), Moto G (2nd gen.), Moto G with 4G LTE, and Moto E. Others will include Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini."
They also notified the customers that this will evolve over time, so they should check back for changes from their software upgrades page.
Droid Life reported that Motorola is only pushing Android 5.0 Lollipop 22.11.6 system version to the members of the company-based feedback network using "Pure Edition" Moto X smartphone, which is designed for soak-testing to find bugs and other issues before its official release. It is not available via Over-the-air update and can only be installed via manual flashing method.
Till date, there have not been any updates about the Android 5.0 update on the upgrade page, but it is likely that Motorola customers and users will be on the lookout for those updates for the coming weeks.
Motorola was among the first companies to give the world Android 4.4 KitKat, and techies hope they'll do something similar with Android 5.0 Lollipop.
