Angie Miller in Danger of "American Idol" Bottom 3?

For the first time in weeks Angie Miller could be in trouble. The clear "front-runner" has been on top of American Idol for as long as I can remember. On Wednesday's "Motown" theme the remaining 8 contestants had to choose songs from artist who came from Motor-city (Detroit...duh).

Though we didn't hear any Eminem or White Stripes, there was definitely plenty of golden oldies from the Motown era.

Idol darling Angie Miller chose to sing "Shop Around" much to the delight of this week's mentor Smokey Robinson. Robinson and famed music producer Jimmy Iovine tried to get Miller relaxed and out of her usual piano, emo performances. But Angie Miller seemed stiff and a little out of her comfort zone.

On a night where it seemed like everyone was delivering his or her best performances of the season (yes, even the guys) Miller really needed to bring her 'A' game.

Nicki articulated it well when she complained Angie Miller was trying to be somebody she wasn't. Always complaining about Jimmy Iovine's advice, Minaj urged Miller to switch things up and make the Motown songs fit her personality, not the other way around.

Janelle Arthur's performance of "Keep Me Hanging On" by The Supremes was a perfect example of owning the song and making it hers. Janelle blended a classic melody with acoustic guitar and southern charm.

Minaj wasn't the only judge who thought Miller's performance was sub-par. It was obvious when Idol judge Randy Jackson said her voice was pitchy, the criticism was getting the best of Angie Miller.

Tune in for Thursday's live results show to see if Angie Miller survives or gets eliminated from Season 12 American Idol.
