YouTube Sensation and Comedienne Anita Renfroe Wows Grand Ole Opry Audience With Debut Song Your Mama Raised You Right

One of the country's top female comediennes with 20-million YouTube views, Anita Renfroe made her Grand Ole Opry debut appearance last night at the all-star tribute for Minnie Pearl, Hats Off To Minnie!, in celebration of Minnie's 100th birthday on October 25th. Renfroe performed a new song she had written in honor of the occasion, Your Mama Raised You Right, the country version of her multi-million viewer hit, The William Tell Overture. If you mind your manners and respect your elders/You know how to love and laugh and pray and fight/If you crave sweet tea, porch swings and Elvis/That's how you know your mama raised you right. Check out Renfroe's performance here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww78A8ClPLg. Renfroe shared the Opry stage last night with such high-profile artists as Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Pam Tillis and Mel Tillis, with Grant praising Refroe's performance.

"The small town Anita grew up in was not unlike Grinder Switch," says Grant. "Even though they never met, Minnie Pearl was honored beautifully by Anita Renfroe at her first Opry performance. 'You Know Your Mamma Raised You Right' hit a home run when Anita belted out the familiar 'How Deeee.' We were all so proud of Anita."

"I have no idea what can compare to standing in that circle at the Grand Ole Opry and performing in honor of one of country music's most beloved personalities, Minnie Pearl," says Renfroe. "No audience is quite like an Opry audience, as it's one of the sweetest, most receptive places on earth. My family will be relieved to know that they won't have to get me a solitary thing for Christmas as my year has just been made."

"Minnie Pearl - thank you for being the brightest light in country music and comedy for decades," continues Renfroe. "The path you blazed with a twinkle in your life has made room for so many of us. I am the blessed recipient of your 'mentorship from afar' and I'm thankful."

Monday night launched Renfroe's Nashville appearances when she performed at an intimate fundraising event by The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, Center Stage at the Opry.  Renfroe shared her "Top 10 Favorite Things about Minnie Pearl" for the audience that included other featured performers and guests, The Oak Ridge Boys, Roy Clark, and Clare Bowen (star of ABC's hit series Nashville), U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander and Nashville Mayor Karl Dean.
