Apple AirPods Release Date News Update: Devices Suffer Another Delay

Bad news for Apple fans as the AirPods release date just missed Christmas, and potentially a whirlwind of profits.

Just last month, the company had revealed that the shipment of the devices will be delayed considering that there are still kinks that needed to be ironed out. However, no release date was announced.

Reportedly, the issue could be much more complex. For instance, with regular devices, manufacturers only need to sync the Bluetooth in one earpiece. With the AirPods, Apple will have to configure the independent earpieces to make sure the audio syncs. It also has to deal with battery issues between the two earpieces.

"We don't believe in shipping a product before it's ready," an alleged Apple spokesperson said. "We need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers."

Patrick Moorhead, analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy, also described the news about the Apple AirPods release date delay as "an absolute black eye" to the company since "they missed the holidays".

The Apple AirPods release date delay is bad news for the Cupertino-based company since it just missed the holiday rush.

Nick Hunn, chief technologist with UK-based WiFore Wireless Consulting, told The Sun that the issue in the devices could be "something major."

"They've missed the Christmas market with what had the potential to be a really sexy product," he said. "It's something that's blindsided them."
