Apple iOS 8.0.2 Update & Compatible Device List for New Operating System
Weeks ago, Apple made its latest mobile operating system, iOS 8, available for download on Apple products, such as iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini, iPad mini Retina and the fifth-generation iPod touch. The update, however, caused several problems for some users trying to install it.
Since then, Apple has decided to release iOS 8.0.1 update to alleviate some of the issues.
Apple was plagued with complaints, about the storage space requirement for downloading the software, and about malfunctioning applications, among other issues.
To address the problems and resolve the glitches, Apple released an update to the software, called iOS 8.0.1 on Wednesday. The updated version of the operating system, however, was pulled a few hours after its release, since it induced more critical problems.
Reports say that some users who were able to update to the iOS 8.0.1 were not able to make and receive phone calls after installing the update. In addition to this, the operating system reportedly interferes with Apple's Touch ID system, a feature that allows users to unlock their devices through fingerprints.
After pulling the update, Apple apologized to its customer and promised that a better update will be made released upon availability.
"We apologize for the great inconvenience experienced by users, and are working around the clock to prepare iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue, and will release it as soon as it is ready in the next few days," read Apple's statement.
Meanwhile, Apple is also facing issues regarding the durability of its recently released phones.
Reports spread about how some users accidentally bent iPhone 6 Plus. The structure of the phone is allegedly faulty, since it appears that the aluminum case used by Apple is not strong enough to provide a backbone that would counteract the extra leverage of the 5.5 inch display.
While some see issue as a result of mistreating the devices, others have argued that the company should have at least warned the users about the potential problems.
The company has yet to issue a statement regarding the reports.
