Apple iPhone 5S Unveiled Today / How will New Touch ID Fingerprint Security Sensor Hold Up? Concerns [HANDS-ON VIDEO]
As you've probably heard Apple unveiled the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, and reintroduced iOS 7 at its keynote event today.
Though the iPhone 5S is only a modest upgrade, it does have everyone buzzing about the new Touch ID feature.
Apple has been rumored to have been including fingerprint sensors in the past. And year-by-year, a new iPhone is announced but no fingerprint security. After patenting the technology earlier in the year, Apple finally delivered on its promise.
Apple is convinced Touch ID fingerprint sensors will make security easier. According to Apple, half of all iPhone owners don't bother using password security out of inconvenience.
With new iOS 7 features, the iPhone can even survive a full swipe!
Some are concerned that they won't be able to revert back to the old-fashioned way. Though I don't understand why someone would rather take the time to plug in a password as opposed to just the press of a thumb, but it is a concern in the aftermath of the iPhone 5S introduction.
iPhone 5S users have yet to know how the iPhone 5S Touch ID will handle an accidental shower accident or drop in the sink washing dishes.
As with all things tech, you'll just have to wait and see.
