Arrested Development Creator Mitch Hurwitz Talks About Possible Season 5, Responds to Rumors
Mitch Hurwitz recently had several conference calls this week, answering questions about the show's current and past success, as well as addressing a few rumors about its future. He says that there was supposed to be a cameo with George Clooney.
He was quoted as saying, "George Sr. has this land in Mexico and they was going to be constantly spooked and chased off the land by these really handsome men. We were going to get people like George Clooney. And they'd be like, 'Who are these guys? Who are these Mexicans that are trying to get us off their property?' And at one point [the handsome men] were going to say, 'We are the Mexican Romneys!'"
He responded to Season 4 reviews as well: "I try to have a pretty open attitude about it. Everybody wants to be loved all the time; it's not realistic. It's certainly not realistic if you're going to be ambitious in terms of changing the form. There are risks either way. Had I done the exact same show I did last time, there'd be blowback to that."
When asked about the show's future, he said, "I don't have a timeline yet. If there's more, I promise you we will put a date out there."
Well, we definitely hope that there are more fun times with the Bluthfamily in our future!
