Arrow Season 3 Spoilers: Shocking DC Comics Superhero Appears In Upcoming Premiere?

While CW Network's 'Arrow' has introduced many superheros from the DC Comics in the last two seasons, not all of them have had a major impact on the show or its fans. As Season 3 of the popular series is set to premiere this Fall, along with it will come a surprise DC Comics female superhero.

Season 2 left viewers with a cliff-hanger in the finale episode entitled "Unthinkable."

As viewers will know, Caity Lotz's role as Sara Lance or Canary was noted to be sent off on a barge headed for the League of Assassins, to which the show's executive producer has some alarming news about the matter. As confirmed by his Twitter account post, Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim said that Canary will make an appearance in the Season 3 premiere episode entitled, "The Calm."

While it is still unknown what will come of Sara Lance's return for the first episode of the upcoming installment, some speculation on the idea exists. Fans will remember that Oliver at one point considered and entertained the idea of a date with the returning superheroine. Some might say that this is the reason for the role being written back into the show. However, another possible reason for her shocking revival is based on her father Quentin's dire situation.

Beyond Lotz's return to the show, 'Arrow' Season three will bring with it some familiar faces from 'Superman Returns'. Reportedly, Brandon Routh will play a major role in the upcoming installment as DC's The Atom. Additionally, 'Sin City' star Devon Aoki is said to be lined up to play the comic character Katana.

Anxious fans will have to wait to see how all of this plays out when the show returns this Fall, in the mean time, they can catch Comic Con 2014 in hopes to learn more about the popular CW Network series, 'Arrow'.
