'Arrow' Season 5 Cast News: Stephen Amell Tells Why Current Season Might Be The Final One

"Arrow" is currently on its fifth season and fans wonder if they can still look forward to another season when it ends.

As of this point, the series has already completed its flashbacks for the five years that Oliver Queen had spent on the island before he became the hooded vigilante that he is now. Since the current season premiered, the series has mainly focused on flashbacks showing Oliver Queen's life while stuck on the island and away from his family for five years. The show has also focused on the present day, when the vigilante is already back to uphold justice and save Star City.

Recently, actor Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen, talked about the current season of the series and explained why there is a need for its creators to ensure a well-thought-of story for season 5.

"I put my heart and soul into every day of work and every episode, but at the same time there is a lull in any relationship where you need to have a 'come to Jesus' moment, so to speak. That happened for me in the latter half of season 4, where I feel like there were just a few things that got lost in the shuffle, so we needed to really refocus in season 5," he said in his interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Talking about the "magic formula" which he said the show needs to capture this season, the actor added, "I do believe that this season is sort of a throw-down-the-gauntlet year for us, where we're either going to do what we do and do it well or it's the last year. If we find that magic formula--which is not magic--it's just hard work and playing to your strengths--then the show could go on for a really long time."

According to the actor, the current season might be the last for the show if they fail to do well what they need to do.

"Arrow" season 5 currently airs every Wednesday on The CW.
