ASHTON KUTCHER VS STEVE WOZNIAK : BACKLASH FOR NEW "JOBS" FILM / TRAILER AND RELEASE DATE
"Jobs" is new movie that is set to portray Apple's late Steve Jobs and the major moments and people who influenced Steve Jobs from year 1971 to 2001. The two-hour long movie is said to be a mere portrait of Steve Jobs' life. His biggest achievements from the early days of Apple being ran out of a garage, Jobs' blowout with Apple, to the release of the first iPod in 2001.
Ashton Kutcher stars as Steve Jobs himself and Josh Gad stars as Jobs' partner, Steve Wozniak. The film was written by Matt Whiteley and directed by Joshua Michael Stern. It was first premiered in Park City, Utah at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The film has received some criticism and strong backlash since the first clip surfaced on the internet, with Steve Wozniak being one of the biggest critics. Wozniak calls the film inaccurate and that some plots and dynamics in the film are "totally wrong" and "not close". Kutcher has counter argued with Wozniak's criticism and made the following statement during an interview with the Washington Post:
"Steve Wozniak is being paid by another company to support their Steve Jobs film. It's personal for him, but it's also business. We have to keep that in mind. He was also extremely unavailable to us when producing this film. He's a brilliant man and I respect his work, but he wasn't available to us as a resource, so his account isn't going to be our account because we don't know exactly what it was. We did the best job we could. Nobody really knows what happened in the rooms."
Below is the trailer for the film "Jobs" that will hit theaters this Friday, August 16th
