'Avatar 2' Release Date Rumors: Saldana And Worthington Asking For A Raise In Pay Before Reprising Their Roles?

The characters of Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington are reportedly going to face death in the next installment of "Avatar."

Speculations about their death started circulating when rumors that Stephen Lang will take the lead role in "Avatar 2" in place of Saldana and Worthington came out.

According to reports, both actors are currently having second thoughts on reprising their roles in the upcoming sequel movie. Insiders claim that they are demanding a raise in their pay before they return for the upcoming film.

Fans of the franchise speculate that "Avatar" director James Cameron will not give in to their demands, considering the limited budget allocated for the sequel movie. Also, there are rumors that the upcoming film will focus on Stephen Lang and not Worthington and Saldana's characters.

As of this writing, none of the abovementioned speculations have been confirmed so fans of the "Avatar" franchise should take everything with a grain of salt.

In other news, the production of "Avatar 2" has been delayed, as confirmed by James Cameron himself. According to reports, the renowned director is asking for more time as he makes some changes in the film.

"I'm going to push. Not only for better tools, workflow, high dynamic range and high frame rates--the things we are working toward. I'm still very bullish on 3D, but we need brighter projection, and ultimately I think it can happen--with no glasses. We'll get there," he said in a recent interview.

"Avatar 2" is expected to arrive in December, 2017.
