Barnes and Noble announced the newest device in its E-Ink Nook line today. The device is called the Nook GlowLight, and if you think you know what to expect from a Nook, think again. This new Nook is light as a feather and incredibly thin. The white and grey color was used to mimic the margins of a real book, according to Barnes and Noble.

The business model behind the Barnes and Noble Nook series is to win over consumers who have never used an E-Reader before and are hesitant to drop their real books and pick up an electronic device. Barnes and Noble has made the Nook GlowLight as close to a real book as possible in order to make this transition easier for the demographic.

The real advantage that the Nook GlowLight has over its competition is the real-life people in customer service that help a user choose a book to buy. David Pierce from TheVerge.com wrote an article about this new phenomenon. He wrote, "Amazon's algorithms only go so far, the logic goes - people who just read a John Grisham book don't necessarily want to read more John Grisham books, and 'what's good that I should read next?' is a question better answered by a person than a computer. So Barnes & Noble touts its human-powered recommendation system, which recommends books that are good, not that are related; it's a digital version of the curated tables at the front of its hundreds of brick-and-mortar stores."
