'Batman vs Superman' Cast News: 'Fast and Furious' Star Gal Gadot Confirmed as Wonder Woman in 'Man of Steel 2'

Batman and Superman fans...you now have your Wonder Woman. Fast and Furious star Gal Gadot has finally been confirmed as latest cast member to join the upcoming Man of Steel 2 movie. Gadot will be the first actress to don the roll on the silver screen.

Director Zack Snyder can't stop gushing about how well Gadot fits the role.

"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role," said director Zack Snyder. "We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."

Rumors that the former 2004 Miss Israel would be taking on the iconic role sparked online after bloger El Mayimbe tweeted Gadot would be taking on a "female lead" in the sequel to last summer Superman blockbuster.

Aside from appearing in several Fast and Furious films, Gadot has also had supporting roles in Knight & Day and Date Night. After winning Miss Israel in 2004 she was also a contestant in that year's Miss Universe pageant.

Principal photography kicks off in early 2014 and is set to hit theaters summer 2015.
