"The Best Man Holiday" Movie Review and Trailer

The best advice to give for moviegoers who want to see this film is to watch the original film "The Best Man" first. "The Best Man Holiday" tries to catch the audience up on the happenings in the first movie, but this movie is definitely a sequel even though it is premiering fifteen years later.

The movie centers on the life of an out of work writer and his pregnant wife. Harper, played by Taye Diggs, has not had a popular book in a while and is broke. He goes to New York to attempt to write a book on the life of his friend Lance (Morris Chestnut) so he can make enough money to provide for his family.

The major problem with this film, as with many romantic comedies around the holidays, is that plot lines and situations are far too predictable. A lot of the scenes are filled with clichés that make the movie seem cheap even though the acting is fantastic and the overall story is entertaining.
