'Bible Chronicles - The Call of Abraham' Raises $875 of $80,000 Goal on IndieGogo to Launch Biblical Video Game

A promising Bible game, Bible Chronicles: The Call of Abraham, came up way short of its crowdfunding goal when they raised $875 out of a target goal of $50,000.

Ending on March 5, Phoenix Interactive Studios was only able to get nine people to back the project. Initially the group raised $19,000 out of $100,000 on Kickstarter, but when it appeared they would not be reaching their goal they dropped out the last minute. Kickstarter does not let projects keep money if the whole thing is not raised. IndieGogo however, lets people keep a portion of the proceeds if the full amount is not raised.

According to Gamespot, The Call of Abraham is a third person adventure game, and the player is in control of someone in Abraham's caravan.

Throughout the game, players will travel throughout Mesopotamia and Egypt.

The game's creators, Martin Bertram and Richard Gaeta hoped to use the game not only for the purpose of fun moral entertainment, but also as an evangelistic tool.

"I have four kids and Richard has two kids, and we had this idea of creating Christian video games that stir a hunger for God's Word," said Bertram to Christiantoday.com a few months ago.

The game had also been voted onto the PC game service, Steam, the "iTunes" for the gaming world in which consumers can select the games they think are worth buying.

The studio went on and previously said if the campaign goes well, it would serve as the first in a longer series of "Bible Chronicles" video games.

It is uncertain what the future of the game and the franchise is now.
