BlackBerry DTEK60 Release Date, Specs, Price News & Rumors: Order New Flagship on BlackBerry Website

The BlackBerry DTEK60 was launched last month although the commercial release date in the US won't be expected until December this year for a price of $499.

The new device is touted to be the safest yet in the BlackBerry lineup, although the design leaves something to be desired as it looks very similar to the Alcatel Idol 4S. This is in line, however, with the announcement of the company that it will stop designing phones so it entered into a partnership with TCL, which manufactures Alcatel.

However, not a few noted the hardened plastic case makes it very slipper especially if your palms are sweaty. You might want to buy a plastic protector just in case.

As to the specs, fans were happy to know that the BlackBerry DTEK60 is already using the Snapdragon 820, a far cry from its predecessor's outdated Qualcomm Snapdragon 617, with cores running from a range of 1.6GHz and 2.15GHz. The processor is mated to the Adreno 30 GPU.

It has a 5.5-inch display with 1440x2560 pixels resolution, with a pedestrian 3000mAh battery. It has a 4GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage, although you can expand it up to 2TB via the microSD card slot. The camera specs for the BlackBerry DTEK60, meanwhile, are 21 MP for the main snapper and 8 MP for the front.
