"Blurred Lines" Model Calls Miley Cyrus 2013 VMAs Performance "Distasteful" / Elle Evans: "I Was Appalled"
Some people loved Miley Cyrus' racy 2013 VMAs performance. "Blurred Lines" model Elle Evans was not one of those people.
Let me refresh you, Elle Evans was the sheep-wielding, topless model in the original unrated music video for Robin Thicke's breakout summer smash "Blurred Lines".
Though Evans thought the performance was tacky but is more surprised many didn't expect Cyrus to do something so recklessly raunchy. Either way Evans was certainly disappointed. In a recent interview with Fox411 Evans detailed her opinion on the performance.
"I guess we all should have seen it coming," she said. "I didn't, I really didn't. I thought that she was going to transition from a child actor into a bad-ass rocker chick, but I don't know what happened. She lost it a little, I think. I was like, 'Wait! Where's Miley? Where's the Miley we love? Where's the Miley I know and, like, respect? Where did that go?' I don't know."
Evans continued to say that Cyrus was overcompensating for some insecurity with being recognized as a Disney pop-tart princess.
"I definitely would say that I didn't approve," Evans added. "It was distasteful, in a way. I was more disappointed than anything. I don't know. It was a little extreme. It didn't have to be that extreme. It would have been a great performance, everyone loves the song, everyone was really looking forward to it, and I was appalled. I couldn't believe what I was watching, honestly."
What do you think of Evans' reaction? Did you like Miley's VMA performance?
