'Boardwalk Empire' Season 4 Spoilers: Cast Welcomes Ron Livingston, Patricia Arquette / September 8 Premiere on HBO [TRAILER]
Boardwalk Empire Season 4 is only weeks away from its Sunday, September 8 premiere date. Back in June, HBO released its first official trailer for the new season. The preview reveals some familiar faces from previous seasons along with some new heavy hitters in the New Jersey crime scene.
Who will challenge Nucky's control over Atlantic City? According to the Season 4 trailer entitled "Kings" we know that someone is stepping up to the plate.
Also in the trailer we know Gillian Darmody survived the heavy dose of liquid heroine after unsuccessfully trying to murder Season 3 villain Gyp Rosetti. In the trailer Gillian is be questioned about an "unsolved gangland shootout" which obviously references last season's finale.
What Gillian saw or heard we don't know yet. Regardless she'll do what she can to make sure Nucky gets the blame.
Rumors point to Dr. Arnold Narcisse as the new boardwalk villain and sole threat to Nucky's kingdom.
In the Season 4 trailer Narcisse says to an uneasy Nucky:
"Only Kings understand each other," adding, "What shall we do, Mr. Thompson, what shall we do?"
Its obvious the Harlem doctor is threatening Nucky, but to what avail? Does he really have the resources to challenge the most powerful man in New Jersey?
Also shown in the trailer are fan favorites Chalky White and Al Capone. Absent from the trailer is Big Apple kingpin Arnold Rothstein, Nucky's former wife Margaret and ex-Fed now criminal Van Alden. Though they do not appear in the Season 4 trailer, they're still expected to be alive and vital to the storyline.
New to the Boardwalk Empire Season 4 cast is Roy Phillips, played by Ron Livingston. Roy is "a ladies man who comes down to Atlantic City and befriends Gillian." Also new to Season 4 is Sally Wheet, "a tough-as-nails speakeasy owner with connections to local gangsters. Wheet is played by Patricia Arquette.
Boardwalk Empire Season 4 is set to premiere September 8 at 9 PM on HBO.
