"Brooklyn Nine Nine" Premiere Episode Review 2013: Strong Pilot from Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher [ONLINE STREAM]

The fall season is a strange time for TV shows because every network is scrambling to find the right concoction that will stick with the audience. FOX may have found it's working cocktail with the new sitcom "Brooklyn Nine Nine" which appeared to positive reviews and pretty much destroyed the competition. The pilot episode, which features Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher along with others, seemed to take a new look on the old good cop bad cop narrative. But will it last?

Samberg plays a cop who is whiz at everything except for "growing up," in the premiere episode of "Brooklyn Nine Nine." His character, Jake Peralta, is the brain child of "Parks and Recreation's" showrunner Michael Schur who is the lead writer of "Brooklyn Nine Nine." Other supporting actors are Melissa Fumero, Chelsea Peretti, and Terry Crews. The other star of the show is Andre Braugher who plays Captain Ray Holt, an uptight, by the books boss who is new to the team and also happens to be homosexual.

"Brooklyn Nine Nine" has the potential to succeed after the pilot episode because of its strong crew and great credentials. The writers and actors work together very well to create genuine comedy and they will only grow from here.
