Calling All Gamers: 31st Annual Golden Joystick Awards
Some people may be familiar with the Golden Joystick Awards, but for those of you, who aren't, the Golden Joystick Awards are like the VMA's for gamers. The 31st Golden Joystick Awards being held this year will take place October 25at the Westminster Park Plaza in London and voting polls are now open for fellow gamers to vote for the best gaming titles of the year.
The award show is ran by Future, TechRadar's publisher and consists of 15 categories with "Most Wanted" being one of the top ones. With the launch of the Ps4 and Xbox One game consoles being just around the corner we will see just what consumers really want in a gaming console, but there are also a list of games that are listed in the "Most Wanted" category; Titanfall, The Division, Need for Speed Rivals, Dark Souls II, Call of Duty Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Super Smash Bros., and Batman Arkham Origins are a few of the games listed in the category.
There is also the "Game of the Year" award is including some of the most anticipated games of this past year such as, Far Cry 3, Borderlands 2, Halo 4, BioShock Infinite, The Walking Dead, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Grand Theft Auto V, Saints Row IV, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Now that's what I call a tough line-up.
Other categories for the award show include Best Online Game, Best Handheld Game, Best Storytelling, Best Newcomer, Best Indie Game, Best Multiplayer, Best Mobile Game, Best Platform, Best Visual Design, Innovation of the Year, Studio of the Year, Best Moment, and YouTube Gamer.
