The Cardinals look to beat the Brewers again at Miller Park tonight. The Cardinals defeated the Brewers by the final score of 6-4 yesterday. The Cardinals starting pitcher Lance Lynn (3-0) got the win for St. Louis last night. Cardinals' starter Shelby Miller (0-2) will attempt to get the win tonight when he battles Brewers starter Marco Estrada.
"We've seen Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Chicago, and everybody is looking good," said Cardinals skipper Mike Matheny to reporters. "Everybody is playing well, and we've seen that the Central is no secret like it was last year when people seemed surprised. The thing that adds to that is the Brewers are a solid team that is going to be right in the mix.
The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Cardinals by the final score of 6-4 last night. The Brewers starting pitcher Matt Garza (0-2) suffered the loss for Milwaukee yesterday. The Brewers are hoping their starter Marco Estrada (1-0) will out duel Cardinals starter Shelby Miller when the two men oppose each other tonight.
"We know we have to beat them," said Brewers skipper Ron Roenicke to reporters. "But we felt that same way against Pittsburgh. When I first got here, we played well against [the Cardinals], but last year we didn't play as well. We weren't at full strength, but we didn't play that well against them last year. They're all important. We know if we're going to compete with Pittsburgh, we're going to compete with Cincinnati, we're going to compete with the Cardinals, we have to play well. I want to just play good baseball. If we play good baseball, I like our team and what we can do. Whether it's the Cardinals or whomever else, we should be able to compete with anyone."
