Premiering September 19, 2005 on CBS, "How I met Your Mother" is in the makings of filming its 9^th and final season. Based in Manhattan year 2030 the series is centered on main character, Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) and his friends, telling his son and daughter how he and their first mother met.

Since the series "How I met Your Mother", aired it has been a success and received many positive reviews. It has also been nominated for 24 Emmy Awards and took home seven out of the 24.  In 2012 the series won the People's Choice Award for Favorite Network TV Comedy.

Season 9 is set to air the 23^rd of September in 2013 and is an hour-long premiere. The entire 9^th season is set to take place in one weekend when Barney and Robin will wed and show how each of his friends initially came in contact with "the mother". It's going to be pretty interesting to see how they plan on fitting a 3 day weekend plot into 24 episodes this season. Carter Bays, the show's creator, says the final season will sure enough tell the story of the longest wedding weekend ever.
