CBS Moving Forward With "How I Met Your Mother" Spinoff "How I Met Your Father" 

CBS has plans on making a spinoff of the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother. A pilot for the new series, How I Met Your Dad has been ordered and will be the female perspective of How I Met Your Mother.

How I Met Your Mother is one of CBS' most successful sitcoms alongside The Big Bang Theory and the spinoff will try to follow in its success, but will not feature any of the characters from the original show, which will be one of many dilemmas the sitcom may face.

With the change of story line, will viewers want to watch a show where the focus is on how a woman met her kid's father? Creators, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas have to really focus on picking the right actress for the leading role and additional characters who will play as her friends.

Who knows, we may see special appearances from Barney and other members of the How I Met Your Mother crew on the show. There's no word as to when we can expect the spinoff to hit airwaves, but How I Met Your Mother is in its ninth and final season, so it may be soon.
