Chart-topping rockers Benny Dichiara & Empowers launch 2022 with emotional new music video "I'll Meet You There (Daddy's Song)"
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Chart-topping Christian rock band Benny DiChiara and Empowered are continuing to build on a breakout 2021 with the unveiling of their latest music video, the uplifting and emotional, “I’ll Meet You There (Daddy’s Song)," which releases today, Friday, January 21, 2022. Portions of the new video, which was produced by Richy Long and Gary Governale of LA Post Group in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, were filmed during a concert at St. Francisville, Louisiana’s historic Hemingbough just prior to Thanksgiving 2021. Long and Governale previously produced the band’s chart-topping "Listen to the Children" and "Three Days" videos.
"I’ll Meet You There (Daddy’s Song)" serves as a tribute to DiChiara’s father, who passed away from cancer in October of 2020.
"'Ï’ll Meet You There' is an emotional song for me," says DiChiara. "But although there was pain when Daddy passed away, the joy that comes with knowing that he is in heaven is much greater. We can have joy in our sorrows, especially when God is in it."
“Initially, there was that 'sting'...the confusion, some anger, the loss," continues DiChiara, who co-wrote the song along with its producer, Dove nominee Mikey Howard (7eventh Time Down with Love Journey Music). "Oh, but for the love of God! He steps in and gives us hope and joy in the midst of it all! I knew that my Daddy was going to heaven since he had accepted Jesus as his Savior. So I know that I'll see him again. This is how 'I'll Meet You There (Daddy's Song)' was born. Our prayer is that this song delivers the hope, joy, and comfort that only comes from God."
The Hemingbough concert capped a breakout year for the band that included DiChiara being featured in multiple high-profile media appearances, including CBN's The 700 Club, Cornerstone Television Network's flagship show, Hope Today, NRBTV's award-winning TV show Babbie's House, Inspiration.org, nationally syndicated radio show Bill Martinez Live! (airing in 300+ U.S. markets), popular Baton Rouge, Louisiana, lifestyle publication, 225 Magazine, and many more.
The vulnerability and authenticity on the “I’ll Meet You There (Daddy’s Song)" video align with the band's current EP, Three Days, their first release since DiChiara nearly lost his life to a traumatic brain injury. His journey of healing makes the band's accomplishments of 2020 and 2021 all the more significant.
Two of the songs on the project, "Listen to the Children" and "Three Days," have occupied multiple No. 1 chart positions on IndieGospel.net, as has the music video of both songs. In total, the Three Days EP has now garnered seven No. 1's on the IndieGospel.net charts over the past year, and has yielded over 250,000 streams on Spotify.
"It’s beyond humbling to see what God has in store for us when we just listen and obey. When He says to move, we should simply move,” DiChiara says. “In 2021, I had the opportunity to be interviewed by numerous outlets across our great country. God opened the door for so much more than just the music He allows me to create, but for ministry as well. For God to use me to touch the hearts of people with His message (sometimes specifically for a certain person) is hard to fathom. But God. He surrounds us with special people to help accomplish His purpose.”
