Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho recently expressed his views regarding his team's striker Diego Costa imminent matchup versus NK Maribor on Tuesday afternoon.

"It's the same problem that he's having, but now an injury, not an almost injury," said Mourinho to reporters regarding Costa's possible return.

"It's simple. He's not training because he's not in condition to do it. Tomorrow he cannot play. Let's see what happens for next weekend, but next weekend is not important. I don't have Manchester United (on Sunday in the Premier League) in mind. I have Maribor in mind."

Chelsea previously defeated Sporting Lisbon by a final score of 1-0 on September 30.

"The results tell you a lot," said Mourinho to reporters. "The results away from home have been very impressive. I think they are a difficult team. We worked today studying them and I'm happy because my players now have the feeling that they are a difficult opponent."

Chelsea's athlete Nemanja Matic revealed that his squad realizes how tough the Slovenian football club have been in recent matchups.

"Nobody expected Maribor to take points off Sporting and Schalke - but they did and showed that in football there are no favorites," said Matic to reporters.

"So until the end I expect hard work. But I hope we will win every game and we will make it to the next round."

Meanwhile, NK Maribor is attempting to end Chelsea's winning ways when the two squads face off this week.

NK Maribor ended their prior bout with FC Schalke 04 in a 1-1 tie last week, and showed they are a difficult team to defeat. They will need the same resolve against the Blues this week if they are to snatch at least a point or even cause a bigger upset by taking the win.
