Bradford, PA Church Encouraged to Wear Camo For "Duck Dynasty" Inspired Service
A northwestern Pennsylvanian church is letting is being encouraged to go camo for their post-Thanksgiving service Sunday, November 31st. Hoping to recruit some new faces to The First Wesleyan Church of Bradford, Rev. Chris Terbush thought the Duck Dynasty inspired service would be a refreshing to change the pace by letting their "Sundy Best" reflect the outdoors-friendly community.
"There are a lot of hunters in our congregation," Terbush told the Bradford Era. "I know we live in a hunting community and we're open to all people including hunters."
Not required to wear the conventional pastor collar or robe, Terbush is planning on wearing his hunting clothes during the service. Originally from Indiana and avid hunter, Terbush says he would open to the idea of a camouflage clothing option being an annual event.
"We'd love to do it every single year," Terbush said. "Ultimately, the major goal is to draw new parishioners. I thought it'd be neat if nothing else to show the community who we are."
Tying in with the Duck Dynasty theme, Terbush is confident he could deliver an impassioned sermon that focuses on the idea of camoflauge and how it relates to our faith.
Members are not however asked to bring weapons inside the church, for obvious safety reasons.
