Coachella 2013 Lineup - Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phoenix, Stone Roses Headline

Coachella 2013 owners and event organizers, Goldenvoice, released the festival's lineup Thursday night and, to the dismay of some, people were a little deflated with listening options for the show's 14th year.

Rumors that The Rolling Stones would be included this year were instead replaced with confirmed future Hall of Famers Red Hot Chili Peppers as closing night headliners. Instead of delivering on rumors of French-based EDM visionaries Daft Punk playing, French-born dance-rockers Phoenix will headline Day 2.

Hip-hop takes a blow. Fans won't be able to see the likes of Jay-Z, Kanye and Dr. Dre as they've been able to in past lineups. The Coachella crew could sway not even newly christened royalty like Frank Ocean or Dre-protégé Kendrick Lamar this year.
Jurassic 5 and what is rumored to be all of the original members of the Wu-Tang Clan will help fill the lack of star power.

Lou Reed, a personal favorite, is a bright spot for those still kicking themselves for missing Radiohead and Black Keys last year. Newcomers Father John Misty and the Lumineers are well-deserving of the gig and will help nudge the festival in the right direction.

To accommodate Coachella's enormous popularity, this year will be held on two identical weekends; April 12-14 and April 19-21. Tickets are $349 for General Admission and $799 for VIP. They go on sale Tuesday, January 29th at 10 AM PST.
