The Macy's Columbus Weekend Sale has started and it is set to run until Oct. 12, International Business Times has learned. As per the publication, people can use the promo code "FUN" if they want to shop online. The sale offers additional 20 percent for selected and clearance-priced apparel, along with both fine and costume jewelry. Also, buyers can also purchase various footwear, apparel, and home goods with 15 percent discount.

Toys R Us also runs their sale for Columbus Day. According to Money, people who are interested to shop early and avoid the Christmas rush can check the store over Columbus Day weekend. As per the publication, the sale includes buy one and get one action figures like "Star Wars," along with educational and other toys. In addition, the sale also covers free shipping on all orders. The sale is scheduled on Oct. 6 to Oct. 10.

Along with Toys R Us, Barnes & Noble also has its sale for Columbus Day. As per reports, buyers can have 30 percent discount when they purchase toys and other games. These include Legos, electronic toys, and stuffed animals, as per reports.

In line with the event, a Columbus Day parade is also set to take place on Oct. 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Suffolk Downs parking lot, 525 William McClellan Highway, East Boston. It is set to conclude on Meridian Street near Maverick Square. Attendees have to take a MBTA Green Line trolley to Government Center, which is followed by a Blue Line train to Suffolk Downs.
